It has recently come to my attention that people are being denied switches and PTO requests. I would like to make sure that they aren’t denying PTO for unjust reasons. So, going forward, please send me an email letting me know of any PTO denial and the reason they provide you.
The language in our local contract regarding switches changed as of 10/01/2018, we are no longer limited to one switch per finalized schedule. The new language states “Switches will be limited to 5 per person each calendar month.” Our contract also states that employees shall be notified of approval or disapproval within two (2) business days of the submission of the request. Please notify me if approvals or disapprovals are taking longer than this.
I have also noticed that when requesting a week of PTO, staff are being scheduled the Saturday before their request. Per Article 14.7 of the local contract (For WB staff), PTO, when requested for an entire week, shall include the weekend prior to the business week. Please pay close attention to your schedules, if this happens to you please let me know sooner rather than later so that I can get it taken care of.
